Canberra Club Day Sunday
« on: September 15, 2008, 07:37:06 PM »
Anyone in the Canberra region, the ACTMCC will be running another club day this Sunday. They have an Old School class which is basically anything without USD forks/rear disk, as well as all the usual classes and an Over 35s. The track is fun, the club friendly, and the forecast is for a mild sunny day and maybe not even a frost. Sounds good huh?

Hey Dennis and Snowy, will you be fronting up after a busy few weekends just gone?

And a good day it was too. Perfect weather, perfect track. A little soft going to start but that was OK. There was a good rollup for the Old School class, I think 10 starters which was good to see. Three or four CR250s, a couple of CR500s, KTMs, YZ250s, even an old IT250. No major incidents or injuries all day and the racing program went without a hitch. Can't ask for better.

yeah, was tops - gave revenge to the guys who couldn't make buladelah (and no rain to boot).  eleven Old School bikes made for great racing.  next year we go over-45s so even more classes to choose from for old bike riders who are old themselves.  we might even get ourselves our own grid, seeing the over 35s class has to lose some guys from it (there were 42 of them!).

one thing that gets me - i had to slam my foot down mid corner when front end was in danger of going out from under me, just as a quick prop.  the effect of this tho is that the impact busts the blood vessels to the big toe nail, which - for the fourth time in five years - will prolly end up killing off the toe nail.  it eventually dies and falls off and regrows, but its not the nicest look to take thru summer.  anyone else done this?  if not, how come it always happens to me????
