Gold re-discovered in Ballarat
« on: May 25, 2015, 06:23:52 PM »
Sunday was my 3rd ride ever at Monza Park & fair to say conditions were somewhat trying for us average Joes. The good guys had no problem of course & was a good fun day out for all.

I rode there last year & seem to recall that it rained the following day & pretty well cleaned most of the local soil off the outside but still left a little bit of work to be done the next day to get the undersides free of the sticky clay. Practice day earlier this year was good, reasonably dry conditions & an easy clean up.

Today I went out to the local wash place where they do 50% extra time for the same cost mid week (great for washing dirty bikes, dirty women or cars). For $6 you get 13 minutes which is pretty good but with 2 bikes & $18 invested was still no match for the Monza Brick Makers Clay!!!

Not complaining but just amazed at how that shite just doesnt want to come off, unbelievable  :o

Good news is, I sieved the wash bay from the afternoons cleaning & scraped up enough gold fines to pay for the weekend & some  ;) ;) ;)

Err, not me there, just one of my "mates" who decided he'd ride my bike because he couldn't start his own! I couldn't get my head around the track conditions & did a grand total of 3 laps for the day & after getting my leg almost ripped off in one of those ruts that went to Tasmania I called it a day. Extremely well done to all who battled on, you're all legends.

I must have been going through the same rut as I tweaked my knee/ankle twice in the same line????
