1980 RM 400 any good

Are the 1980 rm 400's any good, found one for $550 missing tank but looks complete other than that

You bet depending on what class you can run it in. If you are running pre 80 then you need 400N which is basically same bike with uglier guards

If thats the actual bike you are looking to buy, it is a '79 RM400N- chain roller on top of swingarm, and triangular chainguide underneath swingarm give it away. Very little difference in models N/T except for comsetics as marc pointed out.
