Yamaha YZ250, 1995 model.
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:48:08 PM »
**Bike starts and runs well, but has noisy main bearings.**

Brand new chain and sprockets.
Brand new piston kit. Big end good.
Good tyres.
Rebuilt shock (I think - I'm 99.9% sure I rebuilt it, but need to check).
Good alloy bars.
Good plastics, good original seat cover (good - not perfect).
Pipe has been panel-beaten, still a bit ugly. An almost brand new FMF pipe is included.

New main bearings, and paint the frame and it will be quite a nice bike.

$1400ono. Will sell for less with good used chain and sprockets fitted instead of the new bits.

Bike is in Yass, southern NSW (near Canberra).

Hell no (to both parts...). Just clearing out the unused stuff in the hope of buying a newer trials bike and/or a new enduro bike...

I rode this bike at Lochmaree when it was owned by AdamN. Goes hard real hard. Fair bike fair price!
Let's face it some dirt bikes were never meant to be ridden.

Not this one, MM. The '94 model one I got off Adam is not leaving my ownership for a long time! :)

But same basic bike - the 95 has a better PV and a mid-valve in the forks.

Newer, better pics. Pics show PWK carb, but bike will come with the correct Mikuni TM.

The original pipe is pretty ugly, but functional. Real solution is below:

I forgot about the crappy muffler - its a KX250 body on the YZ inlet cap and core. Works fine, but I've dropped $50 off the asking price because its not as good as an original one.

Sorry Nathan, my mistake still a nice looking bike anyway. I can't blame you for keeping the 94 model, it really does howl. Good luck with the sale.

Someone should buy it and give it a makeover - retro style 8)

If the '94 comes up for sale, I would like first option on it ;D. You are right MM, it is a screamer.

That was always the deal - just don't hold your breath! :)

The '95 goes just as well - maybe a bit snappier, thanks to the short mufler.
