Dirt Track weekend blitz!
« on: August 02, 2012, 08:10:03 PM »
Maryborough Speedway Club are running a dike night Saturday 11th August with the inclusion of a standard bike class. The following day MMCC dirt track series continues Sunday 12th August @ Action Park Raceway, Maryborough. Rumor has it that this may become a regular occurrence next year, Yee-Haw!

Check the MMCC website for details of both events.

Cheers,
Steve

Good stuff shane, I just had a new baby boy so I am out. There has been a fair bit of interest so hope the rain stays away and it's a ripper meeting.

Didn't go the the speedway Sat night but from all reports was a top event.

The flat track Sunday was A1, 12 rides on one bike plent of oil down so was a hard track to ride

Biggest class was vintage (conbimed) pre 75 and pre 86.

One practice and 1 event left for the year.

Come try something a little different Im sure you will like it!!

Good to hear Shane. I was a little stressed when I got a call from Bob at 8:45am wanting to know where the steward I had lined up was. Thanks to Frank Kraan for giving up a ride!

We actually have 1 practice and 2 race days left for 2012.

16 September Practice
7 october Club Day 4
18 November Club Day 5

I think it's a good move for the speedway club to add stock bikes. I'll have to contact them and get their proposed race schedule for 2013 so we can either run dirt track the following day (make a weekend of it) or keep them seperated. Either way it's a good thing that I hope becomes the norm.

Yep, that's good stuff having stock bikes. I remember we used to do that in the 80s and it was always great fun to have ride on the speedway. If I remember right, the MMCC used to run practice/fun days there sometimes too on a weekend. I'd love to have a shot at that on the YZ125!

I am working towards getting the internal oval at Action Park prepped up so we can run different formats at practice to make things interesting and so the juniors (pee wee's at least) can use it during race meetings. All work in progress.
