System problems? / Re: Banned
« Last post by 2T on November 20, 2025, 09:47:15 pm »
This makes me think of a problem the Yamaha IT forum was having before it closed down. That being, not being able to log on, then some being able to log on and others not being able to. I don't think there was ever a reason given or discovered.

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, I only received the banned message once. The wording ('You've been banned') made me suspicious that the sight had been hacked.

If it helps, I don't allow third party trackers on my laptop and also clear my cookie cache regularly. Maybe that helped my situation...or maybe not.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

I still can’t access the forum on my iPhone (Due being “Banned”)
Others have mentioned the same issue.

I think there may be some that don’t have, or use an alternative (I’m on my iPad)

This issue could contribute to the forum dwindling away.

It there anyone that has the know how to “unban” the recently “banned”?

I come back here almost daily, so much information, even to find my own stuff that I'd forgotten ;-)

you know you're in trouble when you cannot remember which site to look for stuff you have forgotten

A forum is a great place for invaluable information.
People with so much knowledge.
Categories, “sticky” subjects, and infamous, and often ignored, “search” function.

A shame they are being slowly usurped by the instant, short term, shallow, Facebook. (Not unusual to be reading an interesting post, have the phone lock, and never be able to find the post again.)

Long live the obsessive freaks on obscure forums!!

In amongst the drivel (probably from me and no one else) there are many pearls of wisdom. In the "I want it now" world we live in now, it is always doing a "Search" to see if ones question has already been answered. Forums are gold for correct answers.

went looking for an old topic so did a search on my posts, got lost in some laughs on some good stuff on the forum from 10+ years ago.

a good time waster for those that have been around for awhile, some classic take the piss Aussie humor from years gone by.

try it.

Considering my choice of username, I'm glad to see there's some logic behind the term. :)

I'll be cheeky here and say I must be one of the longest, continuously standing members. A lot had enough over time and left the forum but did return.

I beat you by a month, lol. I used to screen shot all your modifications for XT/TT 500’s, still have them saved. Great info in them, and that’s why this forum was always so invaluable. Still poke my head in here  occasionally to see if there’s any interesting reading.
