Husqvarna / '87 WR400
« on: May 15, 2018, 03:59:48 PM »
I have just acquired an '87 WR400 and the cylinder and head have been removed and came in a box with the bike.
Unfortunately the 4 long studs and all the nuts and bolts to attach the top end are missing.
Can anyone point me in the right direction where I could get the hardware? Anyone got any spare they want to sell?
Grateful  for any assistance as this is my first foray in to Husqvarna ownership other than my modern '16 TE300.

Cheers

Wanted / PE175Z Battery Box Wanted
« on: July 29, 2015, 07:37:57 PM »
Just picked up a fairly original '82 PE175.

Have managed to find most of the bits that were missing. The only things left are the battery  box and PE tool :-[

I'm not even going to ask about the tool :-\, but if anyone has a spare '82 battery box surplus I would be very interested.

I know we are talking expensive and hard to find, but just putting it out there if you may have one spare.

Cheers

For Sale / 1982 Suzuki RM250Z Parts - Job Lot
« on: May 19, 2014, 11:39:09 AM »
Am putting this up here for a mate. Maybe of use to someone.

This is what would be just about a roller if you assembled it, There is lots missing, but there is a lot of good bit as well. Looks like the bike didn't have a hard life. What you see is all there is.

Frame looks to be in very good condition, with no damage that I can see, has footpegs and rear brake pedal etc. Swingarm is very good, has hardly any marks or rash, chain guide is near perfect with all the nylon rubbing blocks present. Rear shock has a really tiny spot of rust which may well come off with a rub of fine emery, body etc. looks good too, all the Full Floater struts don't appear to be flogged out. There is a container with the chain adjusters and the aluminium brackets for the shock resevoir.

Front fork chrome is junk, but lower legs are very good. Has very good triples which look to still have the original colour and bolts etc.

Wheels are both very very good. Front unfortunately has a very small crack starting, but they have next to no marks on them and are straight. Rear has no cracks that I can see and still has the remains of the plating still on the spokes and nipples. Hubs need a good clean but are good and both have the backing plates. These would be a good set of wheels to restore.

Has a very very good airbox 8). All mounting lugs are present, along with both rubber drains and the little springs that go inside them. Has had a 1" square hole cut in the back edge of each cover but no holes have been drilled on the outside. Has no filters but the white plastic screens are there. This is one of the best airboxes I have seen!

Pipe is a hand made cone pipe of unknown origin. Looks OK ??? but does have a few small dings.

Has a nice yellow tank with tap that will polish up nicely, and the seat with and cover would clean up good as well. Not shown are the original side cover which have the original decals still attached but are very faded like the rear guard.

The owner would prefer to sell the whole lot as one and is asking $450 for all of it. Bike is located in Sydney at the moment, but I am going to the Canowindra Vinduro so I could deliver it to there. If you want more info or pics, PM me and I will help as best I can and put you in contact with the owner,

Cheers,
Adam

For Sale / 1984 Honda CR250 Parts
« on: March 31, 2014, 01:13:24 PM »
I am listing these for a mate who bought a job lot and these are not needed as he has an '85 CR250.

Near NOS pipe. This is as close to perfect as you would find, has one dent no bigger than a 5c piece and a spring rub mark on the flange. Has had a coat of matt black to protect it so would only need painting in the sheen of your choice.

close up of the very small dent,

SOLD

Cases, have been vapour blasted and as best I can see have no defects, all threads etc are good, could do with new dowels. Small section missing from left crank seal thin flange behind the stator but won't effect the seal in any way. Will need new bearings and seals. Has ME03E cast on left side and number on the riveted plate is 2606226.

$150

Cylinder, head and piston. Looks to have been bored and then due to poor storage has rust damage to the surface. I would say it would hone up OK but soda blast or similar would be good too. Has a 2mm o/s piston, looks like a Wiseco and I don't think it has been used at all. There are no grooves noticeable when you run your finger nail down it, so maybe a clean up and you could use it. Cylinder has all the power valve linkages and no signs of damage that I can see anywhere. We have no history on this so what you see is what you get.

SOLD

Swingarm. Needs a clean but has no big rash or marks. Has a little overspray at the front but should clean up OK. I will give it a clean when I get 5.

$30

Parts are in Sydney, and I can post at cost or meet up or drop off etc. etc. Send me a PM if interested.

Wanted / '84 Honda CR250RE Parts Needed
« on: February 19, 2014, 03:54:25 PM »
Have a mate that's not on here that needs a tank and exhaust for an '84 CR250. It's a rider not a resto, so they don't need to be immaculate, just useable, but the nicer the better. He has cash ready and waiting. If you can help or know where to find them, let me know here and I can pass on the details.

Wanted / '92 Yamaha WR200 Parts Wanted
« on: January 30, 2014, 07:57:33 PM »
I know its not VMX, but I am needing a couple of parts for this project I have just got. Nothing needs to be NOS, as long as it isn't totally buggered and is useable it will be fine.

I need the lower rear chain guide which is also common on the '89-'92 YZ's
I need both radiator shrouds.
The piston is very sloppy in the cylinder, so I suspect the nikasil would be toast, so a useable cylinder would be handy as well.

Give me a yell if you can help.

Wanted / OEM Kawasaki Bolts Needed
« on: January 18, 2014, 07:54:51 AM »
Hi,

I am looking for 6 original Kawasaki bolts for the stator cover and sprocket cover. They are M6 x 25 flange head bolts with an 8mm hex (not 10mm), the head is recessed and they have the number 7 on the head like the one in my fuzzy pics,

All I can seem to find is the version with the slightly domed head like modern Kaw/Yam/Hons bolts, or the recessed head style but with a 10mm hex.

If anyone has 5 or 6 laying around that aren't stripped or had the hex head butchered I would be very interested. They are circa 83-84-85 KDX200 but surely they were found on other models. I didn't think finding 1/2 a dozen bolts would be such a challenge :o. If you could help, please let me know, have money, will buy etc.

For Sale / '84 -'85 XR Plastics
« on: January 01, 2014, 08:17:53 PM »
I have these sitting here doing nothing now as I don't have an XR anymore. They are all original OEM Honda parts, they may be of use to someone. They will fit the 200 and 250 but not sure if any others. All are not perfect but all are completely useable and better than nothing.

$110 including post Aus wide.

Wanted / '84-'85 KDX200 Headlight
« on: December 05, 2013, 08:13:09 PM »
Looking for the original big headlight for the KDX. Interested in any or all of the parts that make up the assembly, ie: the bracket, lense, chrome rim that goes around the lense. Happy to pay whatever is required for good parts.

Also looking for the rubber holder that attaches to the frame under the tank near the coil which holds a ceramic resistor. Just need the holder, have a resistor.

If anyone had a battery box for it as well, I would be prepared to pay whatever it took ;)

Any help or leads would be appreciated.

For Sale / 1984 Honda XR200RE
« on: November 11, 2013, 12:53:44 PM »
I have reluctantly decided to put my trusty little XR up for sale.

This is a great reliable bike. It has had a good second hand engine put in it as the original had worn the cam journals in the head. I took the head off this engine to inspect it and it is very very good. There are no stripped and heli coiled threads anywhere, the cylinder has no damage. I had a basic head service done, lapped the valves, new valve stem seals, new cam bearings and new rockers where needed. This engine has no wear on the cam journals like the old one and needed very little work. It starts first or second kick regularly, has no engine knocks or rattles and blows no smoke. Before I installed the engine I pulled the clutch cover off and cleaned out the crankcases of any oil sludge and installed a new gauze filter in the oil pick up.

It has had the rear shock re gassed, oil changed and new bump stop etc. Forks have been stripped, cleaned and new seals installed. There is no rust on any of the forks or shock shaft. I have been right over it from front to back and replaced wheel bearings, suspension bushes and whatever it needed. Has near new chain and sprockets, new seat cover and too bag, tyres have only done a couple of rides.

It has all original Honda plastics which have polished up with a nice shine, the front guard is a little faded and scratched. Has very good wheels with no cracks or flat spots, has original un damaged fork boots. Has an original speedo which is a little crazed on the clear screen and it makes a whirring noise when going, but they are near impossible to find and this one works. Has a new speedo cable. All the lights work, blinkers, front and rear brake lights, hi - low beam, horn etc, it could be registered very easily. If there is no interest I will probably rego it myself.

It is a good reliable honest  example of an XR that hasn't been abused to death, and has an engine that looks to have escaped the self destruction that these are renowned for, and still has all of the original electrical components. I rode this around both days at the recent Cookardinia Vinduro and  it didn't miss a beat, and didn't use a drop of oil. While it does have some faults, the muffler has a couple of dings, and some numpty had welded footpegs to the swingarm, it is a great Vinduro mount which really doesn't need any major work doing.
I have another swingarm to go with it to replace the one on it complete with new decals, I have the old engine with a good bottom end, spare carby's, airbox as well as spare original plastics and a few NOS bits and pieces.

I would like $1500 for it with all the spare bits I have to go with it.

Cheers

Wanted / KDX200 83-84-85 Forks and Front Wheel
« on: November 07, 2013, 06:58:34 PM »
Anyone got a good useable (not rusty) set of 38mm forks and an original front wheel and brake for a KDX200 spare? KDX250 may work as well. Not worried about the cleanliness or a bit of surface rust, as long as they are useable. Helping a mate with his new project. Plenty available in the US but thought we could keep it in Aus first. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers
