Competition / Re: So…..Why are you NOT racing???
« on: September 23, 2014, 09:32:02 AM »
Time and money! I spend too much time working on them.
It is still cheap compared to other motor sports but..... one of the reasons I got into old bikes is because thats all I could afford at the time. Now people want stupid money for what is essentially a clapped out old dunger! And it hard and expensive to get parts.

Iv been doing lots of Vinduros one reason being value for money you cant beat it. Also if all the clubs did more interclubs or invites it would save me having to be a member of many clubs because I love all eras and styles of riding, MX to Vinduro, pre75 to pre 95.  ;D

Bike Talk / Re: PRE 90 Run on models?

True, I guess MA can have the final say on what is a legal run on. The only reason I ask is cause Iv been looking at a few potential purchases, and don't want to waste my money on something I cant race/ride. Cheers!

Sadly its been nearly a week, its too far gone. It looks like its been at the bottom of the ocean for a year :( Apparently the guy covered it in paint stripper and hit it with a karcher first. I will never do this again, full strip down to blast the cases or not at all, not worth the risk.
I paid him good dollars to destroy a good engine. Im not sure if I have a leg to stand on if I go chasing some level of compensation?

Wanted / Good KLX250B engine or complete runner.
« on: August 26, 2014, 06:55:09 PM »
I feel like crying right now  :'(   I got my freshly rebuilt engine back from the blasters a few days ago, I thought id have a go at soda blasting it complete. Well the moron filled it with water and paint stripper! The engine is a write off! Its locked solid completely rusted!!
If anyone has a good KLX engine or even runner to palm off for a reasonable price please let me know.

Ok ill give that a go! I have done many fork seals before but the dust cover has always been rubber thats easy to pull off then remove the clip above the seal. On the Kwaka the dust seal is different,  like a steel press fit?. Hence I cant get to the clip.  So what your saying is once I remove the bottom bolt I can just slide the whole stanchion out?  Once thats out im sweet. I'll let you know. Cheers
