I am pissed that I missed such a good event at my old stomping ground. Thanks for pics Denis.

Either they don't believe this place is worth the effort or they just don't care. Shame they don't take into account the amount of visit this place gets.

Went out and gave the boys some help yesterday. Loop is close to 20km long and it's a proper enduro loop the only thing missing is killer hills. Nice bit of grass track thrown in. This area was used heavily during the 90's for NSW cross country rounds and in the 80's as NSW enduro rounds. Got some real rain yesterday as well so that will help with the dust. Whilst there are good amenities you will need to bring everything it's a long drive to the local.

The shims go on the engine mount so the frame is the correct gap.

They have an odd bearing setup Mick, you need inside tips. You sort-of have to shim them.

One of the only charities who gives 80% of the gross income they make to the people they say they represent is the Salvo's. A lot of so called charities give under 10%. The church in most cases is under 1%. If It was up to me I would remove the charity status from anyone who didn't give at least 75% and make them pay company tax rate at 30% including the Church. I reckon you could fix up a few schools and Hospitals with that money.

Whilst I am sure Pete will help with advice Mick I throw a bit in as I have done the big fin head myself. I used 20x3 flat bar cut roughly to length. Best to give the edge you are welding a quick run over with a flapdisk. Prepare everything and do a dummy run clamps etc all ready to go. Pre heat the head till when you spit on it, it sizzles. I would use a 2.4 tungsten and 10mm shroud set the square arc to narrow to help stop the tip boiling, Run the gas a little higher around 18 to help cool the tip.
The welder looks fine to me , I have a correct 15amp power outlet for my welders.

The ex Government from Tafe can be found cheaply , I have seen people buy simular stuff to this with digital read outs for $1200. You can convert to 240 for around $300
