Suzuki / RM 400 C Rear Hub
« on: July 05, 2017, 02:43:03 PM »
I am asking this question on behalf of a friend who has an RM 400 C that has one sprocket lug broken of the rear hub.

1. Can the hub be welded, apparently they are magnesium?
2. What other hubs can be used in place of the standard one?
3. Where is the best place to find a suitable hub?

Maico / Maico 76 & 77 model what are the differences
« on: December 06, 2016, 12:25:52 PM »
I have an opportunity to obtain a 1976 Maico AW 1976 model.  I would prefer a 1977.  I just want to know what the differences are between the two models.

I know the engine numbers are the same and the frame numbers are different.  Are there any other major changes.  Suspension etc etc.

Yes I know the 76 has a silver frame and yellow plastics and the 77 is red.

Maico / Maico Only UK ????
« on: June 24, 2016, 09:19:44 AM »
Does anyone know what is happening with Maico Only UK.

There was a story they were liquidating all their stock.

The website is closed now for maintenance.

Hopefully the UK vote to leave the EU then the value of the pound will drop.

Competition / 2016 MoMS an interpretation from MA Office
« on: December 16, 2015, 12:27:15 PM »
First off why did I start a new post

I didn't want what I had to say confused with the other posts which are already at 7 pages and no I haven't read them all because most of them are wrong.

When I read the slightly changed Evolution class rules I emailed MA and basically asked the following.
Question in blue answer in red.

I have read the new Evolution class rules and despite the hysteria that I'm sure will occur I think I could live with them provided the following is clarified.

Does " Modifications converting later equipment to comply will not be allowed." mean that machines that do not comply with (the three main rules) when they came from the manufacturer can not be converted to

a) No linkage suspension

b) No disc (note spelling) brakes.

c) Air cooled motors.

i.e. if someone can convert a single shock linkage bike to the class this is what the majority of riders don't want.

Morning Kevin

Yes you are correct. Under this rule you cannot modify a later model single shock linkage machine to twin shock.

Kind regards,

I also asked about what components can be fitted and yes you can fit others provided you don't have to modify them to fit them.  ie "J" model Yamaha forks are fine because they fit straight in.

Just another point the PWK Kelhin carby has been legal for a while under the old rules.  I have one on my Maico now and yes the MA office said it was legal.

I have been able to re-schedule the VMX at Harrisville to Sunday 12 October.

The previous one was rained out.

Barry Surawski will be the coach.  The cost will be $120.00 / rider.  Plus $25.00 for single use rec licence (SURL) if you haven't got an MA licence. We will do a discount rate for Father and Son etc.  We can also cater for older juniors at the school.

This school is to be run on Sunday because several riders said they couldn't come Saturday.  You can camp at the track Saturday night if you want to.

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested or text me 048705606

Competition / 2015 Post Classic MX Championships
« on: September 04, 2014, 05:01:32 PM »
Does anyone know if any Club/s have or are intending to apply for the Post Classic MX Champs next year?

In my opinion it needs to be run by Club interested in EVO, Pre 85 and Pre 90.  They don't have to have their own track.  Just run in-conjunction with a club with a suitable track or hire the track from them.

Viper or Heaven over to you guys.

General Discussion / VMX School at Harrisville Qld Saturday 23 August
« on: August 13, 2014, 06:52:17 PM »
I have been able to put together a VMX at Harrisville on Saturday 23 August.

Barry Surawski will be the coach.  The cost will be $120.00 / rider.  Plus $25.00 for single use rec licence (SURL) if you haven't got an MA licence. We will do a discount rate for Father and Son etc.

Barry prefers to do the school on the Saturday if everyone agrees.  You can then camp at the track and ride the next day if you want to, to put into practice the things you have learnt.  A SURL from Saturday will cover Sunday as well.

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested or text me 048705606

There will be a Post Classic bike/rider school at Echo Valley, Toowoomba on the weekend of 5/6 April.

he main school will be on Saturday 5 April. Sunday may be used for a second school (if needed).

If Sunday is not used for a school. A restricted practice day for Post Classic bikes/riders will be held.

The coaches will be Glen Bell and Barry Sursawki. Cost will be $150.00 / rider.

Competition / AMA/World Championship Supercross San Diego
« on: February 10, 2014, 04:50:31 PM »
Chad was looking good for fourth or maybe third then bang he runs into Roczen rear wheel in the whoops after Roczen was baulked by a lapper.  No ones fault the lap riders can't just disappear.

Chad has three broken bones but He's still talking about racing at Dallas next week.

Still third in points -15 from Vilopoto and Roczen.

Maico / Maico parts on eBay
« on: January 05, 2014, 12:59:11 PM »
I just thought everyone would like a good laugh.

Check these bearing out on eBay.  The seller dodgydave will sell you used clutch hub bearings for $109.94 USD.  Even posting to Australia by snail mail I'm sure I can get them from a local Bearing Shop for less than the postage.

Of course there is more.  I think he thinks he can get a million dollars for the bike in parts.
