Wanted / 38mm yamaha or suzuki fork leg
« on: December 08, 2017, 07:16:55 PM »
I require just ONE 38mm chrome inner tube . Preferably from 77-78 YZ or 79-81 RM or even 82-84 PE175 would do.
Does not matter if theres rust in the upper section, kinda prefer something a little junky, but as long as its not bent.

Are there any late 70's 38mm Yamaha forks that use long/soft negative/rebound springs like the 77/78 RM's?

Tech Talk / Exhaust pipe manufacturer ID
« on: October 07, 2017, 07:03:51 PM »
Does anyone recognise these design features which are the only identifiers I have for possible identification.
- made in USA
- most likely in west coast CA region
- made in late 70's

Simple washer for pipe spring. I am yet to see another pipe with this type of loop and i have heaps of photos of pipes saved, but a lot of photos i have looked at don't really show this area in close enough detail either.

It has these remains of some dobs of weld that once held on a heat shield of some sort. There are 3 each end. I am only 50/50 on the single middle one, i think that could be just  a high spot where paint has rubbed off it. The gaps between the 3 spots of weld are about 20mm

This is a M6 nut shown for size reference. If they were a lot closer together i would of said maybe a 1/4 nut was there and that it possibly could have been a Torque pipe as they had welded on nuts. Maybe the spots of weld held on a larger flat washer with a nut in the center of that?

Does not really seem like enough weld spots to hold on mesh to me.

Wanted / ADB magazine article late 70's
« on: October 01, 2017, 11:50:57 PM »
I am looking an ADB magazine article/s from the late 70’s where they made a budget enduro bike from a TS185 and then Geoff Eldridge raced it against a horse and it was on TV or something. Not sure if I got the details exactly right, I only have vague info. Anyway I am just after the issues that it is in. Probably 76-78 era.
Thanks

Wanted / 1978 TS185 frame
« on: September 25, 2017, 06:26:07 PM »
I am looking for a TS185 frame with Australian compliance plate. 1978C model which will have a 5 digit frame number starting from TS1852-24007 and up to TS1852-39022

79 model has 6 digits and starts at 39023
79ERN model starts at 100001

Prefer good condition, no bad weld repairs, stripped shock mount threads, bits chopped off or excessive deep rust from sitting uncovered out in the rain for years.
I don’t need any of the other parts right now but will need 78 engine at some point
Am hoping to find one by end of the year. Prepared to buy a whole bike possibly if you will just ship the frame.

Thanks

« on: May 17, 2017, 06:55:24 PM »

932 (SAE 660)
954 (Aluminium Bronze)
SAE 841 graphite filled bearing bronze
SAE 840 or 841 oil filled (Oillite)

Or something else?

I plan to fit grease nipples if I can but not 100% sure if I have room/access yet.

For Sale / NOS Protec Yamaha YZ, IT, TT fork caps
« on: May 03, 2017, 07:23:48 PM »
I am not 100% of all models they fit but i think they are for 38mm forks. The OD of the thread is about 31.85mm. I do know they do not fit the 1976 36mm YZ/IT forks or the 36mm XT/TT500 forks which have 29.85 OD threads. I think TT250 application on label is incorrect.

they wont work if you bars are direct over the caps unless you fit a 90 deg elbow maybe

This list below i think is the application. If i am totally wrong please let me know

Please measure the OD of your threads on your caps to be 100% sure though

These caps do not fit any 36 or 38mm Suzuki forks.

Nos brand new, never used
