Well I don't live in Darwin or up North. I live on the South Coast of NSW and the humidity doesn't normally stick around for this long and the fact I don't live in a A/C house or drive a car with A/C and my work place doesn't have A/C so I suppose its just not my cuppa tea lol jimson

Thanks for your input, I'll be doing it every 7000 klms I think. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes me, to put that on the clock. jimson

I've only used the alloy pipe on the lid. The opening on the fuel tank, is just from carefully removing the old locking cap. jimson

So I've taken the Triumph in for its first service 800 klms and I noticed in the book, its not due for another service until it has 16000 klms on it. I asked at the bike Shop and they said yeah, Triumph has faith in there engines. Thats a lot of Ks without an oil change ? jimson

From memory I bought the alloy pipe pretty much the right size, cut it to length  and put it in the lathe to make a channel so a O ring could fit, but it was to tight. If you look at one of the pics theres an O ring at the top of the pipe it seats really well in when the cap is pushed on & turned. jimson

Can you cut an old tube up like a flat washer and force it over the neck of the lid so it acts like a seal between the 2, when its shut  ? jimson

Yeah, I know the triple tree is off a later model lol but the same applies to the old triple tree and I only had that triple tree at the time. So I used the alloy one. jimson
