Stanley you've done it again. I was a flaggie that day right up the back of the track. Every time Gaston came around (way out in frront if I remember correctly) he did a little cross up for me. Happy memories indeed. Jerry

Maybe both of out memories are of a bit, from what I can remember, Gaston & Vic Allan were fighting it out from start to finish & lapped everyone, never seen 125s go so fast.

Mid life crises!!!!!! don't know what that is, I'll be 64 at the end of the year, still ride most weekends, last year I did a 7 day high country ride, the shortest day was around 180km & the longest was 220km had a ball, I ended up riding better on the last day then the first day, the ride ended back at Healesville, when we got to mt Dom Dom we had a choice to go back by road or by tracks, with a smile on my face I said tracks for me, some of the younger riders went back by road ??? anyway after reading some posts here & taking of mid life crises & only 50 years old, my advice is don't think about it just do it, I look forward to every weekend so I can go riding.

By the way I was riding a G450X.

Very hard to imagine the youth of today (the all about me generation) stepping up for their country today, sad fact isn't it.  :(

Not completely so Hoony. My boy stepped up for 8 month war zone duty in middel east. Yes stepped up. He had a choice.

Lets also remember those on active duty as well.

Many many thanks for a hugh dept we owe the ANZAC's.

I agree with Hoony, we aren't talking about your boy, it's the youth of to day, I wouldn't give you 2 bob for them.

Yep was a victorian then and still am.I used to ride at wmmcc on wellington road just past vfl park from about 1976 to 1981 just about every saturday and sunday rain hail or shine gee those were the days , spend most nights in the garage cleaning polishing and tarting up the bike fiking up all the bits that broke or wore out or the bits that i broke doing my maintenance i stripped quite a few bolts in my youth ,making stickers for my bike and helmet by cutting ads out of the mags and applying them with clear contact over the top i thought they looked so trick. The xr was a great bike to learn on but i fell for the 2 strokes pretty quick and managed to buy a yz80e oh the power too bad i broke two frames down near the bottom swingarm mount.Labertouche was a great place to ride.I have fond memories of going with the club a few times and blowing of adults on their big bore bikes on the motox tracks.Tried to go to deep creek once but when we got there it had been closed ,devastating!.

Hi russvr4, you may remember me, I was the starter at the Waverley track took over from Johnny Basmore I was on the committee as well, my son ( Mike Reefman ) sponsored by Dandenong suzuki was there most weekends, yeah it was the best mini bike track around, by the way the track was designed by Trevor Flood.

Oldie,

just by slight chance you take these blokes serious "Please don't" the one thing that is lost on internet forums is the tone and sense of humour.

we all have differing humour and Tim's is Quite Unique. that's where those em-icons come in handy when blokes are being light-hearted.

are you still involved with MCRCV & Stockmans?

Maybe I should explain, I had a Father that put me & my brothers & Sisters down all our lives, so don't pick on me for spelling or anything else, if you do, then you are stoking the fire, I don't put anybody down, & I don't expect anyone to put me down.

As far the MCRCV goes, I rejoined the club about 2 years ago after a long time away, from memory I left the club after the 2nd stockmans was held, anyway a lot of new faces there & they are a clicky lot, so I don't go there anymore.

If you know me you can pick on my spelling, if you don't know me.........................then don't.

You can have a joke with ppl when you know them, you should know that.

Hi Oldie and welcome. I used to be in MCRCV in that era. Dropped out for the odd 35 years and am now back trying to make up lost time. Rejoined MCRCV recently and will race Fang the Sang in as many VCM and CSC events as I can manage this year. Are you in Melbourne? Cheers Jerry

Hi Jerry, yes I live in Heathmont, My two older brothers & I are the founders of the Stockmans enduro, now you must know who I am :D
