General Discussion / Re: Pre90 Machine Eligibility
« on: April 16, 2015, 04:22:31 PM »
Hi, I'm thinking if we are going to go , pre 90, pre 95, pre 2000 (OMG)
pre 2005, (WTF) and how will that work with two stroke and four stroke.
Are 95's so different from 94's
are 2000's so different from 1999's
are 2005's so different from 2004's
cheers

General Discussion / Re: Pre90 Machine Eligibility
« on: April 16, 2015, 12:05:51 PM »
Hi, with all the problems with regards to age based eligibility maybe we should be discussing   guide lines for future classes, and maybe they  should be technology based, as no real major  advances have happened for a while,
maybe something   along the lines of ; ,Conventional forks, or  USD forks ,or steel frames,or alloy frames ,or two stroke or  four stroke, Big four strokes and small two strokes combined ,  or fuel injected engines or any combinations of any of these technologies, a bit like the idea of  Evo  ,  not having an age basis for a class would allow  those people who want to " reverse engineer" to make their idea of what is a "flow on model" to be allowed for that cut off date/technology

and very soon we will need to accommodate all these older four strokes that are going to be included in Vmx
I'm just saying,
cheers

eBay Finds / Re: Greeves 24 mx Mk3 Challenger
« on: February 03, 2015, 10:11:44 AM »
Hi, That pre 65 rule  changed in 2012
In the 2011, the old rule book, said; "All 250 alloy beam(frame)up to Mk3" were OK for pre 65,
See 2014 rule 16.15.8.1,
"Acceptable for the pre65 class are machines and components built up to and including the 1964 model.  The only exception to this rule if the model remains unaltered after this date".
must get the 2015 Manual of Motorcycle Sport,
yes unfortunately some people have been disappointed.
cheers

Hi,
"Grey rules create stress, and a negative for any sport.
Have a look at this forum: 99.859% of the agro is about the rules".

"When the rules are clear and easily understood, then competitors can roll up to scrutiny with confidence. Clear rules also take a lot of pressure off scrutineers, stewards and even this forum".

what he said
