General Discussion / Re: Rule Book changes.Pre68 All Powers 4-Stroke,

So do they allow the use of all T120 motors ie; up to 1971?
 if they meant to only allow motors made in the correct time period why didn't they just say;
Triumph 650 motors before. eng#  DU13375
 isn't it as simple as that?
why can't there be a cut off engine /frame # for all age based classes of bikes
(yes I know every Honda and Husky thats chucked a chain doesn't have one)

Sorry Mark
The point I am trying to make is that the GCR's are not without errors or ambiguity,

Acceptable machines for Pre 65;
Triumph; All  EXCEPT  T140,TSS,T150,T160 and BSA unit single derivatives (TR5MX)
My Triumph TR5T Adventurer twin, 1973/74, is nearly finished , I know its legal for Pre 65, but not for Pre 70,but is for Pre 75, will it be acceptable for Pre68 unit construction All Powers 4-stroke ,?
Will 1968,69 70 BSA Victors be acceptable, for this Pre 68 class also,
Please read the 08 GCR's
When the scrutineers are presented with this anomaly how will they react?
Mark,Dave Geoff Peter,what are your thoughts?

Dear VMX247,
That's Mr Vern Grayson to you,

414
This thread certainly has strayed ,
Dear Mark, are you saying that, scrutineers should or should not allow Vern's Cheney thru scutineering (into Pre 65)  depending on  who is riding it.
Please read the 2008 manual
Please take the word "PEDANTIC" out of your vocabulary,I have noticed that you dismiss any one who doesn't agree with you as pedantic ,
 Reading and knowing what really is in the current GCR's should be encouraged, see GMC's remarks,he can read and understand them, why can't others.

Riding the Triumph ,the Sidepipe,and CR125,on the same day is just  too confusing "now where has that brake pedal gone to" I am  blonde remember,I hope that having the all the bits, in the same place, on the same day might help  keep me on the same  lap ,Right shifters one meeting ,left shifters next meeting
My twin port is under construction ,with another Sidepipe awaiting bits  so I'm not handing my "card" back just yet
cheers

CZ / Re: The 73's
« on: November 07, 2007, 10:32:58 PM »
Hi ENO,
When you wrote the 73 frame was the same as the sidepipes(969&980)model # not the year,did you mean that they are SIMILAR, they are not the same,the sidepipes have their own swing arm and their frames "bifurcate"under the motor , the rear engine mount wont fit the later 400 or 250. the steering head stem is also 1inch shorter ,check the distance between the fork clamps.
This misconception is carried forward by an article in VMX ,sorry Ray,of an article about a so called "Factory Works  Replica "CZ ,Vmx #4, not a 67 CZ , just a Yellow Tanker with a Sidepipe Tank .
If your are buying a Sidepipe be carefull, there is at at least one"cheater' out there
Real Sidepipes are becoming  important in the VMX market place ,so check check check  before you buy
Ps no I'm not an expert but I  have built a couple and one under construction,
