Tech Talk / Re: crankcase joint sealant recomendations
« on: May 26, 2009, 09:58:52 PM »
would not advise to trust centre to centre as most cranks have had the threaded end on the flywheel side
bent out of shape by rough handling or removal.
better to check on v blocks as far out on the crank as possible.

Bikes and Bits Importers in west aust can supply a wosner big bore piston kit,you will need a bigger sleeve to make a job of it.
I have the part no. here somewhere if you need it.
an inner rotor cdi will give you easy starting and almost eliminate the flywheel weight.

Tech Talk / Re: Exhaust paint
« on: May 06, 2009, 07:54:35 PM »
we used tyre paint on the headers of the suzuki GSX1100 powered speedway minisprint and apart from the smoke on first startup it stayed on fine,we just gave it another coat each time we raced to cover the stains from the orange clay ;D

« on: May 01, 2009, 09:31:04 PM »
late model jap bikes eg. YZ450F use a floating caliper on a floating disc(the type with the buttons between the two pieces)

not real sure if that is relevant to your application?

Tech Talk / Re: save weight xl.
« on: May 01, 2009, 09:27:05 PM »
the four post cush drive would only barely take the power ??? of the 125.

one good squirt of the throttle or a throttle on landing would shear them off and instant nuetral :o

stick with the original and save your gearbox, you can save considerable weight by using a sensible sized tyre.
