The front wheel is from a Mk9-10 onwards-it has the four screws at the rim lock.
All parts are readily available from Bultaco parts Aus,Hughs Bultaco in the US or Inmotion in the UK.
EBay also has heaps of sellers.
Frame & Engine numbers still required to confirm what it is.

Solder is too soft and not strong enough. You would need a lot of heat to solder it.    TIG.

Pursang Mk6,the torque arm is the giveaway. You are right that it could be a 125 because of the round cylinder.  Bultacos didn't really have years, just model numbers that sort of translated to years.
The engine and frame number tell exactly what it is.Because most of the engines fit in any frame people used to change engines to what was lying around.

That is my engine on ebay,It is not what you want for that frame.

Contact Bultaco parts Australia,I am sure that Peter could source you an engine eventually.

Hi,
If it is a frame number 29xxx it is a very rare bike with less than fifty made if my memory is correct.
The correct engine is a 350 TSS which is based on the Bandito / Montadero engine(centre port 360 engine)
Australia got very few of these bikes,so this bike has a high value.Good find.

Shell Teepol is now called Shell Dobatex (who thinks up these names).Have been using it to wash bikes for years. Its better than CT18 because it is a degreaser as well.

The plastic mudguards are a problem on these models. On the front guard I cut the plastic mudflap off.I found that when the forks are at full compression the flap would scrape on rocks etc(I think it actually split)cut it off neatly,no more problems.
On rear to extend the length,l had a broken piece of original guard, most originals are broken at the rear when the bike was flipped or thrown away. The lower part is usually undamaged.I cut it so it joins neatly to the plastic guard and still use the original lower mount. All polished up it looks great. You might get a piece at a swap or Peter S may have a piece from a wreck.
You are doing a great job with the bike.I am currently building a set of wheels for my Mk 12.Wheels are a big job and take a lot of time and patience.

I think Metzeler have a classic range in old style patterns.

I should read the post more carefully !  The Bultaco 38's were one year only, can be hard to find. They have a parallel handlebar mount.

There was a big difference in holes in the crank for different models. You can change the barrels as you say,but ideally change the crank. All the other bottom end parts are the same.Don't forget to change the timing and carb.

Bultaco forks were all Betor brand.Jim Pomeroy and others used various Marshocchi forks at different times, but Betors were standard.
