Wanted / Re: tm 125 suzuki rear hub.
« on: January 20, 2014, 01:54:53 PM »
Currently have the cush drive from a ts 125, this was bolted through the hub to make it a "direct Drive". Problem is the cush drive hub has most of the lugs broken off. So I am actually after the cush drive hub. But I will take whatever fits and works as this is not a full on restoration it will be a race/ ride bike.

thanks flatracker ,I pulled the hub apart today and the cush drive hub has been damaged at some stage so I guess the easy fix is to bolt it all up. I am now looking for a cush drive hub to suit what I think is a ts 125 or 185 Suzuki.

Tech Talk / cush drive
« on: January 16, 2014, 05:39:37 PM »
I have a rear hub  that I am going to use for a Suzuki tm 125 project. Normally the tm 125 have a cush drive but this one has been bolted through the hub I guess making it a direct drive.
Is there any advantage reverting it back to original cush drive or leaving it like it is ? this will be a race bike not a full blown restoration. cheers.

Dealers / Re: Bikes, Books and Bits (Vic.)
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:33:31 PM »
I just received an order for a set of plastics for the RM 370 I am currently resurrecting from Richard at bikes books and bits. He placed an order for the plastics and a seat foam. The turn around time was quick and the service was terrific.  They are DC vmx plastics and I am very impressed with the quality of the product.

I have used eldorado before, (sounds like a 1970's aftershave) and Tony's work is second to none. That is a good option Davey , I thought that I could get a foam off the shelf but maybe not.

the seat I have on the 1973 model bike is a different profile to the 1974 model seat. I can get the 1974 profile foam no worries but I cant find the 1971 -1972 model foam. I might have a look at whether it is possible to shape a 1974 foam to suit.

I've used a company here in the northern suburbs of Adelaide , they are called cyclops engineering. Great bunch of people and Brett the owner of the business is a restorer of Vmx bikes. To powder coat a rm 125 frame and swing arm came out at $ 90.00 pretty happy with the result and the price.
