General Discussion / Re: Rossi has gone insane.
« on: October 29, 2015, 02:02:21 PM »
Guys I may need some help to clarify the sepang incident.
I thought it was a deliberate block gone bad? You know, like you see on super/motocross.
When a block pass happens in supercross they run them wide into the berm so much, the rider behind has to virtually come to a stop, or either lean onto the lead rider risking a crash, or go off track over the berm also risking a crash?
Certainly not the usual thing to be seen in flowing road racing, not great racing spirit either, but still legal? No?

I know Barry and he is a great instructor. Did some schools back in the ol' bike shop days with him. Can't think of anyone better. Not only is he stupid-fast on a bike, he has a great sense of humour as well. You will all have a good time, learn lots, and enjoy yourselves, for sure.

I have known the seller Scott for a long time and have sold him some road bikes. He is a great guy and his XR's (this is one of a few) are absolutely amazing.

The Electroplater in Boniface Street, Archerfield will usually take on a job like that if you ask nicely enough. Nice work, good pricing. Not the most affable chap you will meet but is reliable and I have been happy with his work.

Suzuki / Re: 1981 Suzuki PE restoration
« on: January 12, 2014, 10:41:41 PM »
Yes Drums' I feel your concerns. The original nos rear guard is a fairytale in my opinion and I wont spend $700 on one, that would be 20% of the bikes value just there.
Same with the special tool, I had to have some made, and only got it done thru Frosty's goodwill to lend me an original for a couple of months for an engineering place to replicate. Thanks again mate!
I was trying to make my 250X perfect as well, and its a beautiful bike, I just had to make sure the perfection didn't consume me and effect the motivation. Its only a matter of time before higher qual rear fenders are available and you can replicate the white decal on it to give the original look for the meantime. Tank decals will be ongoing misery whilst it has had fuel in it. I fit an old ugly tank when I start it up, and put my restored tank back on to look great if its going to sit for a while.
I still have to somehow find indicator mounts, battery box, and some small nitpicky things too.
You'll get there with it, ol' mate.

General Discussion / Re: How to prevent 'monkey-butt' ?
« on: October 31, 2013, 07:04:32 PM »
The night before riding I apply a generous amount of 3B cream, available from your local chemist. This stuff is so good ya just go riding sans undies, hangin' loose. Never had monkey-butt since (even though I look like a Silverback). Found its no good for pullin' though. ::)

Bike Transport / Re: Commercial transporters ACT-> Brissie
« on: May 07, 2013, 05:56:01 PM »

Can only recommend 'Bikes Only' mate. Got my Suzuki from ACT to Brisbane with them. They would be the most expensive but they are a specialist bike transporter and don't do general freight. I think my enduro bike was $436 to freight in total. If its a bike that you absolutely don't want damaged then this mob are the ducks guts.
I used them very many times when I was in the bike industry, probably moved 150+ bikes with them, and never any problems.
