So explain this ? refer last picture 1973-74 i have a flat tracker ?  1974 i have a mX.
IN 2007 i have an mx74 that has a trial rear tire and i legally flat track it, i can build "specials from MX" but why cant i take a 74 flat tracker stick on a nobbly rear and shocks and MX it ? even though it has an airheart rear disk brake that was fitted in 74 ? or can I ?   :o

How about next time I am in Melbourne at the mates place where it is stored I take some piccies of the real thing, OK it does not have an engine in it at present but the frame is the unique item. Got the same booming megaphones and boy do they sound unreal ..................... Tim (I dont do rally cars :P ;) ::))   ;D

Well come on Freaky don't hold back lets see it all. As for the hypothetical i don't think that big twin yammy would look as good with long travel shocks and knobbies.

no but an bully, YZa, Dt1, ossa, can am and all the other flavours they ran with the air heart kits in the 70's would.  so hypothetically you would pick you mount, or should i say power plant.  Houston Astro dome 74, honda 250/350 in a champion frame with rear disks and barnes QC, you drop in a set of rear shocks and a padded seat and why wouldnt you be able to MX that ?  Firko had the same Honda in a champion from memory but dont remeber if he still had the disk on it.  im just wonder how the scales balance cause the codes should cross over both ways not just from a specific list ?

na if tyhe frame and motor is pre 75 your in, same classes as MX so you can do pre 85 etc also.

Bail the front gaurd, grab an old 18 front with a disk,( lose the disk) get some old &$ rd,tx style bars and you have an instant Flat tracker !

Modern dont have the same problems with frame design so all you do to them is lower the suspension and stick on a trials or speedway tyre on the rear and boom shanka your away !   less stresss on you back and bike on the flat also :O)

Flat out turn left, nothin' too it really, no gears or brakes, use the clutch and peg the throttle once and hold on for 4 laps.

Good story about the XS 650 powered tracker there, legendary rider Chuck Palmgren had none other than Dan Gurney doing his cylinder heads ,one night Chuck was all worried about over revving the fast but fragile Yammie.Finaly Dan says "what the problem Chuck?","well if I gear it down it revs to hard on the long straight,if I gear it up it would pull out of the corner".Hmm yes well I have a solution Dan says, goes to the toolbox returns with a shifter ,unbolts the tacho and throws it away."Now gear it down and hold it flat on the straight"  ;D
