Ive checked this out and from what Ive seen you will need to cut out the bottom rails to get the counter low enough,also the down tube needs to be bent forward.I haven't done the conversion but seriously considered it until it went in the too hard basket and I ended up fitting IT250 swing arm etc to the XT,its not finished yet and wont be anything like an RM in handling,unless you have a rolling RM on hand you might find yourself buying a heap of parts you cant use,which is fine if you have the spare cash,Im not trying to talk you out of it,go for it,should be an awesome bike if you finish it.

No road bikes in my collection, my mate comes round on his R1 all the time and tries to talk me into one but too plastic for my tastes.
Id only own one if it were track only.
Ive had FJ1200s and 1100s,Vmax,RZ250,RGV250,NSR250,cb900,zxr900 but no more,dirt is way more fun and safer for me.
But Id like to own a Sunbeam outfit like my Dad had when he was younger just to restore and look at and take my Son round the block now and then.

Ill be bringing a few, this will be my first CD, Ive been meaning to come to the last few but haven't had any eligible bikes until now. Just need to sort camping gear and booze in the coming weeks. Cant wait to check out everyone else's bikes and all the trade stands etc.

Thought about undercutting the dogs and slots in the gears?

I'd do it if it needs it, I guess they build in a detent mechanism for a reason, just making it work right.  Harder to get neutral now though  :-)

Only  had one shift problem that undercut on the slots/dogs hasn't fixed.

Where did you have the gears done?I want to undercut my XR600 gears on the drive face but want someone who knows what they are doing.
I want to try a detent roller for better shifts in this bike too.

Anyone tried the chineese copy of the PWK carbs,they look exactly the same as the are a copy of a good design.I need a slide and screw top so thinking of buying one for parts but would like to hear if other people have tried them first?

Im looking for a PKW slide and top for a 38mm that came off a 95 model and Id like to try it on my 94 YZ250,or a complete carb.
Also need a carb or even just a body for a TM,I think its 34mm from my nephews YZ125 92 or any other carb that will work well on this bike.
Looking for a DS80 exhaust too.

Good condition apart from one small dint and plating has come off near the header has surface rust. I can wire wheel it and see how it comes up.Id like to swap for a similar pipe for my 94 YZ250 or sell for $150.Can text or email pics.

I also need a gear shift lever as mine is so worn its pointing downward.Is it a universal spline same as Yamaha etc?
