1977 YZ125D for sale
« on: January 17, 2014, 09:59:48 AM »
I have a nice ready to race very little use survivor for sale, It was powder coated by previous owner who kept it for years in the laundry
it does have a repainted motor and pipe and painted tank and front guard, but looks quite good.
Mechanically it is a low hour bike in excellent condition with original grips and sprockets that still look like new.
looking to get at least $3800 and comes with a new piston ring and spare head and base Gasket, started often riden in paddock now and then for 5 minutes then cleaned and oiled.
Suspension is as new
Brakes like new
New tyres
New spokes
nothing to spend just race it!
Selling as my health is gone :(
Can send pics if you email me

you can ask what you want
what someone will pay is not the same
a forum member had a real nice 250d
and could not get $2500 for it. 12 months ago  regards al

Well seeing as you asked ;D to be honest my thoughts are that a starting price of $2800 would be more likely to grab some attention. In saying that though even a bike of this standard could go for as little as $2200-$2500 in the current market. Now I'm not saying that's all it's "worth", I'm saying that's probably what it would sell for. I don't think today's current market is a fair reflection on the true "worth" of some bikes and what they'll likely sell for in years to come, just a reflection on how few people are in a position to part with large sums of money for things that are largely seen as luxury items. Just keep it, no one ever regretted NOT selling a bike in my experience!!  ;)

Cheers, Brendan

Wow I think it's a great bike for a good price, painted tank is a minus but I think $4K would be about right for a 55 year old wanting to re capture their youth  :-)  If I was a Yam guy, and had room in the shed, I'd go for it.

Shit Ted I cant believe you sold the YZ h for that price!  Your YZ was so nice!!!! Your resto standard is very good.I know the market is very bad though. I have an 83 500 husky that I paid 6500 for and will be lucky to get 4500 now.  Don't sell your other restos unless you contact me. Thanks.

Kenny I sold it to a mate in my club. He wanted to ride Pre 85 125 and I wanted a Pre 78 125. So when the RM became available I gave my mate the Yammy and with that money I purchased the Suzuki. Both very very good race bikes. I probably have all the bikes I need now and I will not be selling any. My grandson can have them when I'm done. He's only 1 year old. He will be hopefully racing fully restored 50 year old MX bikes if we can keep it going ;D
