Usually the pommy stuff is hell to ship, any thoughts on how to ship it.

A small glimpse of something a little more local ;) I'd show the whole bike but it's in the process of a major overhaul so I'll leave it to the owner to post full pictures when he has it completed ;)

Shouldn't be to much of a problem, know of quite a few shipping agents over here. if anyone is interested will get some prices. But allways willing to help in finding the best price.  ;)

And from what the owner of the local Cheney TM400 told me it was very much in need of that overhaul. The previous owner or whoever built it, and especially the forks, deserves 6 good cuts of the cane! ::)

you can picture me wincing Mark but yes :P I wasn't go to say anything but the bike was an absolute death trap when purchased and I'm so glad he never test rode it (even happier in hindsight I forfeited the opportunity to compete on it at the '09 Nats as I would have suffered serious injury or possible death) you just wait till you see it next ;D knowing Ray it'll be spot on perfect! ;)

Not sure if thats down to the Chassis or the standard Tm400 engine, Which from what i understand the ignition advance would change with temp. sometimes nice power to other times hitting like a Rageing Bull.Only ever heard could reports on the handling of cheneys ???

come on folks, its getting cheaper  :P   ;D

Cheney TM400 frame kit, looks to be unused (never had brake pedal pivot fitted) frame rails unmarked, Was going to do something like the cheney tm400 featured in VMX mag 24 , but use a factory type alloy tank and seat. Now decided i don't have time to finish this project so for sale $1,550 or make a offer
Best is in the West !!

Coincidentally, there's a Cheney TM400 in the latest Classic Dirt Bike mag. They basically say the same thing. The Cheney frame sorted the handling to some extent, but the power delivery was another matter.

Handling..ermmmm, yeah :-\ But I can't understand how power delivery in this day and age could be an issue :-\ If it's not right fix it! With the technology and parts available over the counter nowdays to joe average where be the problem? The engine is only what you make of it ;) The TS/TM400, though far removed from the RN factory bikes, did infact make very good power. Tuned correctly there aren't too many bikes of the '71-'74 era that can match them for shear grunt ;)
