Sudco will help with diagnosis, but do get the manual for your bike, would also recommend 2 stroke tuning ie Graham Bell two-stroke performance tuning these will give you specifications, std settings, diagnosis and tuning tips tricks and hints, and you are at the right place here these guys have a lot of experience/knowledge

sounds like you have plenty to go on with! just do one thing at a time and test, also start with the easy stuff ie head gasket throw another one in if it don't work no real time or money waste, on that note pretty much most low down pulling engines are a low comp motor, smaller carby is a good idea, and yes the exhaust is a important tunning device, we had a junior in sidecars who could not come to terms with the pokey little 2 stoke so we fitted a reducer washer on the end of the muffler as he got used to it we drilled out the washer, at the end removed the reducer, funny thing is 12 months later they win the state titles/champion ship  on the same bike

yes RM125B 1977 tank will fit but will have to fiddle with rear mount strap B model strap may fit (RM125C is a plastic tank not disimular to the RM400C tank only a tinge smaller) be prepared to pay good money for the Alloy B model tank
don't think ts will fit well any who it would look like shit and youll scold your nut with fuel from the flip top cap job!

yes they fit I have A RM250B and a PE250B,C the only difference is the baffle in the chamber of the PE and spring location for the muffler

weve been on stand alone for 16 years, just done an upgrade last year, all good and highly recommend, we are very lucky to have a mad scientist, mate and solar pioneer, wouldn't trust anyone else as there are plenty of horror stories fly by nighters selling shit component and putting together shit systems, the price has come down a lot, can jump on the Tig whilst in the upper limits of the bell curve, can run the refridge a/c in cloud     lifes good
