Honda CR125M 1974 Handlebars
« on: August 19, 2007, 10:19:03 AM »
Hello All'
Have recently purchased a Honda CR125M Elsinore to restore. It doesn't have the original handlebars on it so I am keen to track down a pair. Is there any members who have a similar bike and can post the measurements on the forum? eg distance across the handlebars, distance from base of bars up to the crossmember. If I know what I'm looking for I can try a few of the local bike Wreckers.

Cheers Ron

no idea what the honda bars are like Ron but a while back in the old forum i asked about where to get a decent set of high rise vintage style bars.
the answers came in and Don Newell in brisbane can do a nice set of crome bars which i'm still yet to price but thats what i'll be going for.
other than that, renthal also do a high safari or dakar style of alloy bar.
not quite the honda answer you may have hoped for but it might help.
cheers.

Quicky i found one on the week end, weird bit its its all red ? but it has a frame plate on it that says 4/74  last 74 i had was silver and green. unless its not the original tank.  the motor has been pulled out and stored and the bike / frame has been sitting out side for 10 years so it need love and a new tank.  If your keen im sure this guys would sell it as i keep walking past it and wondering if i should, but then i remember how many projects i have on the go and keep going.  funny thing is it at a house just behind our race track, yet no boby has ever wondered down through the scub to the houses down there and yet i still hear guys at the track busting each other balls to sell them somthing....... right under there noses..........but i just cant bring myself to tell them  :P ;D

if your coming this way bring a TM and ill cough up this Cr 125M for you  :-*
