ATK 560 1985
« on: June 02, 2014, 06:05:03 AM »
Hi guys , any body no much about these things, it has a C@J chrome moly frame made to ATKs specs and the 560 Rotax motor upside down WP front end and the single one sided WP shock, specs from what I can find are about 112 kilo and about 45/50 HP, I imagine would be a lot easier to get parts for than a Husy 510 and I'm thinking quite rare....

What's your thoughts?????

Funny you brought this up Popeye my 84 ATK560 is supposed to be turning up this week
and I no stuff all about them apart from having to replace the Cam-belt every 12 months.
Found a link on here somewhere with plenty of info even a video on how to replace the belt.
Will try to upload it later !

popeye
I have a test on a 88 model with e-start.
good bike suited to s bigger rider because of the the heavy tall donk, yz plastics, I think the sprocket / countershaft disc boiled too easily so was a 1 or2  hit wonder. would be a cool bike. can email the scanned test to you if you want.
buts it not a husky!

I had one wish I hadnt sold it, very cool 8) rear brake thing a bit useless. theres a trick to starting them but once you know it they fire up really easy.
If in doubt ,WIND IT OUT

It just oozes trickness  8) and that's why I bought it and luckily this model hasn't got the silly counter-brake thingy
just the ordinary rear drum brake setup but im keen to know the proper starting technique ?

Unfortunately ill be a no-show for the titles but should be good for CD10 and the Conondale classic.

to start my ktm with the rotax motor (delorto pumper carb) from cold i give it 2 squirts of throttle move white dot on cam gear to window in timing belt cover, full choke then usually 1st or 2nd kick.when warm just move dot to window then 1 kick.not sure what carb you get with atk.
