Hi, I am need advice on fibreglass fuel tank prep prior to painting. I have sealed the insides with KBS sealer, on the outside can I bog with filler, undercoat then paint, or do I need to seal with gel coat or similar prior to painting?
Thanks in advance

Spaniards (Bultaco, Ossa, Montesa etc) / Ossa Super Pioneer id
« on: July 29, 2009, 06:45:55 PM »
Hi,
I bought this Ossa a few months ago, frame and engine nos (M 312670) id it as a 75 to 77 Super Pioneer 250. The only pictures i can find of this model are either yellow or orange in colour. A bit of sanding of the paint job on the tank reveals red gel coat and white on the sides of the tank. Can anyone tell me if this model came out in red and white or have i got a tank of another model?
Thanks

Re posting this thread here, hoping some Bul guru can help.

My 360 needs a carby, standard was 32 Amal, I've never seen a restored one of these bikes in the flesh, would be ok with non standard (guessing up to 38mm ok?)

Any ideas greatly appreciated

Thanks

General Discussion / aesthetical/ethical dilema
« on: December 03, 2007, 09:07:26 PM »
I would be interested on the members comments,
I bought a Mk 11 bultaco frontera about 15 years ago. the bike was stuffed, but never mind. In a rush of enthusiasm rebored and re jetting to factory specs.
Fast forward to 2007 (things take time in the country) some good advice from Mark Austin, cdi ignition sourced(Bultaco Parts Vic)and also suspension (YSS).
Now as Basil Faulty said, "piece of cake, now the tricky bit".
To be honest, the original blue colour has never excited me (Mark your resto job looks great), but I wonder what those Spanish paint guys were thinking, especially on the frame!
Yes I had a 74 Alpina and the blue was not so far removed, but my gut is telling me go silver and red, maybee everytime I look at a 72 Matadore I reflect my preferences.
But what do you reckon, preserve or conserve?
