For Sale / YZ & IT Heaps of project bikes & parts for sale soon (I know I've said that B4)

I've finally bit the bullet & have started clearing out "stuff" I have already sold 3 bikes/parts/projects so it is happening this time.

I have been collecting bikes/parts for nearly 20 years now, all Yamaha, most YZ, some IT

I have a bloke coming to look at a IT250/400D frame, swingarm, shock, forks, IT250D engine (Minus cyl & head) & some other bits & pieces. Also a YZ250/400D Frame, swingarm, shock & bits & pieces. If he doesn't buy then they're up for grabs.

Also one near complete IT250K (Missing muffler/silencer & a few other minor things) with an 82 engine (Easier to get pistons etc,) plus another roller and another 5L4 engine (Looks like it's just been refreshed, definitely new conrod kit) minus cylinder/head & flywheel/stator. My original idea was to take all the best stuff from both to make one good one to do Vinduros but I can no longer do MX or any other form of dirt riding so it's/they're up for sale. If the other guy doesn't buy.

Other projects for sale is a YZ100G (Rare, I know everyone says that but who's seen one?) Complete roller, great pipe & silencer, NOS cylinder, non matching cases, correct primary drive clutch & drive gear, complete TESTED CDI, tank, seat, correct front & back wheels, forks & seat base (Someone did a modern style seat cover) & an aftermarket alloy swingarm. Plus more.

I will list others as I sort out more stuff. At this stage it will be parts or project bikes. The restored stuff will be down the track.

As I said though the two frames/engines/ shocks/ etc. will be for sale if this guy doesn't buy them along with the IT250k's if he's not interested.

No pics until I know what he wants but I will list lots after this weekend

Please dont start sending me, "Do you have this?"  I will list everything, over time, what I am selling.

Cant get pics to work

I dont know about you but apart from this one, I've never seen one before

Bought this from a mate who bought it to be a shed queen about 15 years ago
He never bothered to try & start it & neither did I as I always intended to do a full resto

But because I have so many projects & haven't started any of them I thought I would move this one on.

I dragged it out today & checked compression, very good.
Checked spark, excellent.

Some fuel, 3 kicks, fires but doesn't run. More kicks, more signs of life. Do a quick carby clean

3 more kicks & life with a nice idle. Now for a ride.

All gears select as they should. No engine or transmission noises.
Suspension works as well as can be expected for a bike of that era.
Brakes good but need work

Matching numbers & ID plate in excellent condition so can be full or club registered

Plastics are good to excellent.
(Just noticed minor crack near top mounting hole on the exhaust sidecover)
Preston Petty front guard, unsure if the rear guard is OEM or not.

Pipe very good with a few minor dings, silencer excellent

Both rims have slight dings/buckles but definitely fixable

Headlight is cracked & is missing a few other bits & pieces for RWC

Seat cover is a home job so that needs replacing

There are some minor cosmetic blemishes in/on the frame but nothing structural

No inspection available but I'll give you a guarantee
If I have misrepresented or deceived by way of a fault I knew, or should have reasonably knew, you do not have to go ahead with the sale

BUT it will not be an excuse to haggle

Depending where you live I can deliver (Possibly up to 250km) for a fee but this & the purchase price will need to be paid up front but also have connections to a bike delivery service

I have advertised elsewhere so may be withdrawn at any time

Shed clear out. IT's & YZ's bikes & parts for sale (Sorry for the long winded post)

Those who know me will be thinking "you've said this before". Yes I have but this time I mean business. So much so the first lot will be posted today or tomorrow. All will be listed on Ebay to get a wider coverage but all will be open to offers through here & other forums.

Over the next few months/year I'll be selling everything from shed found & basket cases to projects & turn key (Kick start) racers.

None will be shed queens (Not at this stage anyway)

At this point I wont be selling any parts (Apart from the ones listed) until I work out what I need, this is why I am selling heaps, need funds as I will have to buy some parts too. BUT you could drop me a line to see whether 1 I have the part or not & 2 if there is a chance it will come up for sale.

I have stored (Read hoarded) these "projects" for many years with the intention of restoring each & every one back to its former glory but seeing though in the last 10 years or so I haven't even done one it's time I acknowledge some of them aint going to happen. Besides I need the room, shed full. So selling some "As is" so I can restore others.

A couple will come with the option of various NOS OEM plastics (No plastics for sale at this time, don't have many anyway)

A list of what I intend to part with (At this stage)

First unrestored/projects/basket cases followed by restored/race ready Then left over parts (NOS, new after market & S/H) but that wont be for ages.

I will list individually when I actually drag them out

First cab off the rank a 1980 IT125G (Unrestored but 99.99% complete)

Will take me a while to sort out the following;

1983/84 IT250K/J Not matching numbers so need to check frame & engine serial numbers to ID the year/s

Project/basket case 1979 YZ250F (Unsure of what parts it will come with yet)

1980 YZ100G (Rare I've been told) project roller with engine pipe & some plastics. Comes with after market alloy swing arm which I "Think" came off a YZ125D so the arm, not hte bike, would be pre78 legal.

1977 IT250/400 frame & swing arm (Think I may have an engine)

1977 YZ250D frame & swing arm only (Can be used as 400D or E)

1977 YZ 400D frame & swing arm only (Can be used as 250D or 400E)

The main difference between the YZ D & the E was the E's were a chromoly frame with an alloy swing arm.

DT175 engine & parts (Need to check the year)

Project 1981 YZ80H This was a runner & ran well but had a carby issue.

Project/basket case 1978 YZ125E probably just frame, swing arm, and some engine bits & pieces.

A 1979 YZ400F but not sure if I will restore or sell this one as a project yet, still deciding.

1979 YZ125F race ready

1979 YZ250F race ready

1979 YZ400F race ready, will be a Bob "Hurricane" Hannah tribute.

1980 YZ125G x 2 one restored & depending on left over parts whether I do the 2nd or sell as a project

1980 YZ250G x 2 one restored & the other probably as a project, again will need to see what parts are left over after the 1st

And last but not least;

1981 YZ250H race ready (Tempted to keep this one as it still has the 43mm forks & twin leading front brake.

Wanted / WTB Trail bike, (pre 93), 500cc to 650cc MUST have electric start. What you got?

As above. I am looking to buy a trail bike 500cc-650cc that has an electric start as even when young I had a devil of a time kicking my 81 XT500.

Prefer Yamaha.

Dont mind a bit of a project, probably prefer, but would like it to be complete or near as.

Many have suggest Honda NX500 also XL500

As above. I am looking for suggestions for a trail bike 500cc-650cc that has an electric start as even when young I had a devil of a time kicking my 81 XT500.

Prefer Yamaha.

What's peoples thoughts?

Want to include a VMX class to our rounds.

Cost;
Senior Racing $35
Junior Racing $30
Trophies on the day as well as series points. (Series points for full members only)

Senior & Junior Non Comp/Rec ride $25
This is for "beginners" or those who don't necessarily want to race (Yet) but want to ride the track & not be blasted off the track by the faster riders. There are no trophies or series points (As you are not racing) but participation ribbons will be given out.

You will require at least a recreational licence (NOT Rec Reg) to ride.
This goes for practice as well!
Obviously if you have a race licence you are fine.
One day Race licence $55
One day Rec licence $25 or Yearly one $100 (These costs go to MV not the club)
A rec licence is the minimum to be able to practice &/or do the Non comp/rec classes.

We had a group lined up for flag duty but it has fallen through so everyone will need to supply or do flag duty BUT it is done in such a way that no one will miss a ride (Seniors)

If you you ARE NOT a member of the Ballarat Rovers MCC you can use one of the following options;

One day membership $20;
OR Join on the day
(No need to come to meetings to be welcomed in BUT still encouraged)
Single membership $80
Family membership $100
Yearly memberships work out far cheaper in the long run.
Note neither include practice, that is paid separately. Either $15 per rider per practice OR $80 for a single, $100 for a family for the membership year (Till March 1st 2016)

Just came from Monza, Some puddles I'll have to drain tomorrow but was able to walk across in work shoes without sinking. It's not to say some parts maybe wet but overall she should be good. Next couple of days are suppose to be sunny. So she should dry out even more tomorrow & be near perfect for Sunday

Competition / Viper May 24th Monza Park. One day ride Entry form

1st round of the Viper series at Monza Park next Sunday 24th.

The track is in mint condition & will be fast & flowing, weather permitting.

Have done a deal with Viper for those wanting to do just a non comp ride (No points).

One day membership AND entry $55. If needed one day rec licence $25 Modern or VMX but one class only.

If you are already a Viper member or going to rejoin you can delete now.
Ravo pulled out of Viper's 1st meet for the year.
Peter Gruber (President) asked if we (Rovers) could step in & we have.
Viper kick off will be May 24th at Monza Park. I have lined up Jacko to prep the track so it will be mint.
What we are offering is for anyone that wants to ride & catch up with some old faces you can do a one day membership with us & get a discount entry. You will not be racing for points just fun. Depending on numbers & time you may get your own class. (Non comp/rec) It will be $20 for membership, $35 for entry & I assume most will need on rec licence $25.
Please reply if you are interested as I wont do any paperwork if no one is.

Competition / Pre 2000 classic at YAMAHA AUSTRALIA MX Amateurs 16th 17th of May Horsham Mcc

Horsham Mcc is putting it out there, we are looking to see if there would be 20 or more motocross fanatics with their pre 2000 classic bikes looking for a two day ride at our track, in conjunction with the YAMAHA AUSTRALIA MX Amateurs over the 16th 17th of May weekend.

Looking at giving the "Pre 2000 back to the feature class" practice and two races Saturday and repeating it all again on the Sunday. Flagmarshalls will be supplied giving you time to reminisce and watch the newer bikes and younger kids race. Trophies will match the era of the bikes. Maybe watches with hands. Sup regs need to go out soon so prompt action is needed. Either way the event is going ahead.

If your keen and know some that maybe also. please share.

Anyone interested in riding at Monza this Sunday can do under a one day membership or join the club. If we get enough (5 or more) we will run a separate class for Viper/VCM/VMX.

Clubbies are on the last Sunday of the month except for April & October.
