Concretor looking for work
« on: February 05, 2010, 09:14:37 AM »
Guys,I've found it a bit of a struggle lately looking for work, since the company I was working for hasn't had much on at present.
I have both Qld and NSW concreting, carpentry licencing.
I am located on the Gold Coast, but am willing to travel as far north to Sunny Coast, out west to Ipswich, and south to Murwillumbah.
I can do house slabs, driveways, retaining walls, shed slabs, and most things in between.
I have all the tools, timbers etc,to set up and pour anything.
I will even work for another subby concretor.
If you guys know of anything you can either pm me or call my mobile-0411224213,anytime.
Thanks for any assistance.

                                                   Cheers,Mark.
I used to drink a lot.
I still do,but I used to,too.

Bummer you're short on work Mark and pity you are where you are. I'm going to lay a couple of slabs between now and Easter for a new garden shed and a garage extention. I could have used your expertise but you're in the wrong place unfortunately. I'll probably do it myself.

Maate, after CD6 I thought you "may" have seen the light!!....especially since South East QLD is the center of VMX in the Southern Hemisphere!!!! ;)

No, no, no John you poor deluded, bugger. How could I live in a state that worshipped Joh Bjelke-Petersen, Pauline Hanson ,that evil Bindi Irwin and her late deranged father as Queensland icons?  ???

The last 2 I agree with (they've taken our good friend and comrade DJ away from us!!), but the first 2 where right on the money!!!....old Joh was the longest and smartest premier Australia's ever seen (and a Kiwi too boot ) and Pauline... what can I say.... wouldn't have no boat people problem would we?, I dont think they can swim!!!......bla bla bla.....

And that my friend is why I couldn't live in Queensland. No room for old left wingers like me in a society that worships that pair.  I'd get beaten up every time there was an election. ;D

Mark, for the chance to walk around sussing your bikes and projects and listening to the lore.I'd be willing to come down and work for 'B and B'. ;D
This rain hopefully has pushed work for most trades up here back a bit, hoping it'll flow on to all the part timers and newly outta work.
I've never been one to let things get me down, but not having steady work since Christmas was kinda getting to me.Many thanks also,to Mark,DJ,and old fart for making some witty comments that made me smile, and take the pressure off a bit.
I guess old pinko commies still exist in this day and age!

                                                         Cheers,Mark.

Alison. I'm building the bikes I've got on the production line and will see what rings my bell at the end of the year. I want to simplify my lifestyle a bit which means getting rid of some of the bikes. In the short term the DT2MX Yamaha I recently imported from the USA is going. It's still in Peter Leahys wharehouse awaiting delivery down here so I can't work out a price until I can give it the once over. I'm also swaying towards selling the Hindall Ducati. I've been offered crazy money for it from the USA so I may get tempted.
