Ask google if you dont know.about these bikes.

SFA were made and even less made it to oz and you will probably never see another.

Bike belongs to a mate of a mate who is selling off his fleet, He just sold a Metralla for over 8G and it wasnt as nice or as rare as this.Stupid low ball offers given the attention they deserve.

If your interested drop me a PM with your number so I can give them to my mate, He doesnt want everyone knowing where his bikes live which is understandable. Located on the Sunshine coast QLD.

Cheers.

I love it but i dont speak spanish. Will post a pic tonight when i can host it or may just stick it on facebook for anyone interested . PM me here or on FB if your serious and i will go knock on his door with your contact details.

Tech Talk / Ba ba ba barbara.. bars
« on: July 29, 2016, 08:05:06 PM »
Bars have always been  a point of personification. yeah they do have to fit the riders height and riding style but then we have different bends heights and pull back. im short and yet i like wide and low so i can get some weight on the front and slide a bit. not that good for quick forest work though.  Some guys like high bars as they say it offers more control.

whats your choice in a bar? brand Bend height or is it a secret?

Suzuki / New stanchion
« on: May 26, 2016, 05:58:25 PM »
its about the one thing ive never done with a 185. yeah probably done exactly what you just thought of at least twice but luckily very pics available.
But seriously Ive never installed new stanchions. Should be the same as TM125 i would think. I tracked down a pair of NOS ones that were cheaper than getting my mates freckles and spot rechromed but they are bare as i expected.  i dont have a spare pair of legs to play with only the ones currently installed and before i breakout the broomstick and the allen keys i was hoping for a bit of guidance/wisdom and handy hints on what to do re valving removal/install and or how to make those skinny things better. cheers.

General Discussion / When you wish upon a star
« on: May 15, 2016, 12:15:17 AM »
Just because the big Norton sent me over the bars three times before it fired. Just because the the worked kettle didn't like corners(actually despised them). Just because i bought a king scorpion as it was green and went like a shower of shit when i wanted a cota.  yes many a marque has crossed my gaze and if only i had snapped up or kept the bargain . Life is a  fickle mistress and still it goes on.

Ive had the chance to own a few bikes that actually meant something to me. My mates centurion we all thought at 15 yr olds to be just noisy but went well. i wish I knew where it was now. Getting your arm burnt every time you reached back and changed gears on the bantam equipped go kart tends to instill a certain masochistic pleasure in to the virginal rider.

a few bikes still linger in my memory for reasons that are memorable to me

ugly and expensive but went well 500 desmo ducati 500
H5 360 Montesa. MM mmm bitch of a thing to start
Can someone show me how to keep a bultaco exhaust nut in place? 72 matador.

damn that 750 triple and the 550 triple  went well in a straight line but dont ask the question of changing course. now Im all about an obscure underdeveloped trail bike

I wish I still had them all now but what bikes do you regret letting past

Wanted / 9.5mm bore front master cylinder anyone?
« on: January 08, 2016, 04:23:05 PM »
No dont be thinking silly thoughts , its not going anywhere near my 185s. Its for a  non dirt project im working on.

I am informed some of the later model mx and trials machines run a 9.5mm bore master cylinder and Im after a reasonable priced one. 12mm and 14mm wont do the job

Question 1 is what bikes use them and ...

Question 2 have you got one fo sale ?

It doesnt matter if it needs a kit

 Thanks guys.

General Discussion / Dickie Knee
« on: February 26, 2015, 10:26:07 PM »

Not that one, the one that hurts a bit.

Lately my poor old man knees are giving me grief, particularly the left one that i ground all the extra bits off when i was a kid. i almost made it around that wet corner at full tilt. Must have been diesel on the road. :o

Anyway the extra weight of holding the cycle seems to be stressing the ligaments and muscles a bit more than is comfortable and i find myself shying away from dropping a foot in a corner or even standing on the pegs some days. Thats not a bad thing if im on the road but off road it can be a bit of an eye widener amongst other things.

Im fairly sure Im not the only one who has dodgy knees  in my age bracket (over 21s)  so im wondering how do you guys deal with it besides shares in Voltarin ?
