Ebay UK
« on: October 03, 2010, 08:30:18 PM »
I purchased 12 issues of a pommy magazine at a good price off (ebay UK) and then the d/head seller told me the postage would be 44 pound,  a bit over the top I thought when the last time I bought magazines from England they cost me 9 pound postage for 7 and they arrived 14 days later.  When I told this wanker this he agreed to see if he could get a better price, he then sent me a quote for 14 pound which was about what I expected to pay.  The problem now is it's been almost 3 months  and they still haven't turned up, it seems this #@*:ing arsehole has sent them surface mail  and I think that they must be rowing the bloody boat.  And the worst part of the whole deal is now it's probably to late to leave negative feedback, but it;s a good lesson learned and hopefully one that won't be repeated.

Everyday I find one more name to add to the list of people who piss me off.

It costs about 80 GBP for approx 5-6 pound weight parcel  about 350 x 200 x 200mm via Parcel Force global value airmail min 10 days, usually about 14. UK shipping prices have gone through the roof. Thats from Liverpool to South Aus.

If its by seamail, then just hang in there, it will be about 4 months.

Sometimes UK post acidentally sends stuff by seamail. It happend to me, i paid for airmail and my friend shipped it airmail but the PO stuffed up and it got sent by sea.

basically if its over 2 pounds in weight and therefore doesnt qualify for 'Royal Mail small packets' then expect to pay heaps.

Absolutely true - Postage from the UK can be shocking/outrageous.
Sea-mail is usually fine - but expect 4 months and be happy when it gets here in three.
