For a Flattracker prefer at least a 750 but happy if it's bigger
Like 840 / 880
-
The big stoker engines are used more in MX sidecar roles for torque, low and mid range grunt , perhaps not the power/speed for a flattrack solo. The modified 650/750's seem the go.
-
You are right,
But apparently with cc,s comes horsepower and Michelin Trials tyres take care of that,
-
Walter I have purchased Several WP from you 10 to 20 years ago,
I have a reasonable understanding of your engines
It is an ex Sidecar engine that I am wanting that's why I asked here,
I will call you on Tuesday since I am a one fingered typist and have no time for email $#!t either
-
Yet you wouldn't sell one to me Walter. Thanks mate ::)
-
Obviously not enough penny's in your piggybank Firko, you Cyberracer you.
-
I don't recall being offered a rough bike for $635 Walter but I'll take your word on it, it must have been a long time ago though ???. Do you think I can't afford something decent Walter? With respect mate, you have no idea what I can and can't afford but not to worry, I got a complete stocker from the US for $170. That'll do me. ;)
-
The last thing you should do Firko is take his word for it as his past track record is well proven.
-
SON he obviously doesn't know who you are!
-
Never seems to stop you sticking your nose in.
-
Wasp going to work shortly will call you today.
Motor is for a Mule Chassis out of San Diego, (Richard builds some of the best StreetTrackers in the World).
Jemco headers Supertrapp XR Mufflers,
Real Storz Alloy XR tank,
My plan is to get Kevin Curtain to ride it,
He has said No so far but Giles, Willis and Troy might con him into it,
2013 will be the beginning of Big Twin Flattrackers in OZ
-
This is for Dirt, not tar
Will need to rev but not to Infinity.
I have several but Mick Muldoon will build the other.
I have an even better guest Pilot for that one!
-
An 850 Engine is just fine for now,
I am happy to Sponsor the Sidecars at Lakes and do everything possible to help including a workshop, storage and mechanics.
But my priority is the Flattrackers,
I might be interested in one after the titles but for now one 850 engine.
-
Still looking for a complete XS engine 750 to 850cc
-
Still looking
Prepared to spend up to $4,000 for an 850
-
Thanks but not what I want,
I have my Mule chassis With Jemco/ Ohlins /19"s
Just want a built 750/850 motor as I don't have the time,
I have a set of SP pistons and a stroker crank and 5 tradesmen Mechanics capable of building it,
just not the time,
-
When do you need it by?
I have an 880 but was hoping to do one more season before looking for a Norton to make the Wasp original.
-
Wanted it for the Sydney Flattrack Series,
The Mule Chassis is too nice to put a stock engine into,
-
Give me a date pls Son...

First Round 24th March
Entry Closes on 18th,
thanks to all at CPMCC
I am sorry I will miss it
Apparently there is some meeting in Auckland,
-
So much for the add a twin class and you will bring 500 people and promise the world! Twin class has been added.
-
Yep, it's official that the Penrith club have added a Twin's class to the program for round 1 of the Western Syd DT Series on the 24th of March.
Their policy this year is for pre entry only and they need to be rec'd prior to a week before so unless the numbers don't show up it may not actually happen on the day and if that doesn't happen, they may not get included for round 2.
If it helps with numbers and anyone out there has a Twin anything they'd like to see getting around I'm prepared to throw the leg but be warned, I'm gunna look like a travelling marshal, for now.

Cemoto I usually associate Bultaco owners with intelligence .....
1st thing I sponsored the Series,
2nd thing I am giving 3 or 4 bikes to guys to compete,
3rd I will make a few calls to some friends to get the event plenty of media, because I want it to be successful
I will also do a few other things to help,
.
I am sorry that it is on the same day as NZ SGP but I have some meetings at that event that I must now attend,
You can criticise all you like after the event, but you don't get any creditability doing it before hand,
-
So Son are you keen on an 880 stroker motor?
-
PM sent
-
Thank you
-
My 880 Stroker arrived today, thank you very much,
The guys opened it and studied it particularly the clutch,
Can't wait,
I also bought a C&J Flattracker with the change so I am more than happy.
-
Great to see a real honest positive ending here! :)
-
880 is an unusual size for a stroker, is it a (81mm) 750 kit with an 85 mm crank?
-
Not sure Matt the Millionaire, I was told it was an 880 tho have nothing documented to confirm it. I think Popeye measured it when we rebuilt it and Serco provided the pistons which had to be cut so as to not hit the crank. It has a 6mm plate under the cylinder which is exactly the width of one timing chain link. Therefore, when 2 links are added along with the plate, the cylinders, head et al go up the same amount and the cam timing stays the same. No need to cut and shut the cams.
I have seen inside, when we did the gearbox over Xmas, and it looks to me like the crank pins have been moved so as to give the different/longer stroke.
It also has the clutch moved to the r/h cover though it's a bit wide-shouldn't be a problem for dirt tracker and it gives the better option for larger/small countershaft sprockets.
It's a good fast motor but suffered from lack of 3rd gear through most of last year--Conondale and Wyarralong nats. That's been fixed now.
-
Very obviously it is a stroker, all I wanted was a 750 or larger built race engine and that's what I got,
I am more than happy, it is a little ugly with the RH clutch but I will make it pretty,
Can't wait to hear it,
Thanks again EML
-
Not sure Matt the Millionaire,
Geez, ya work in a dirty coal mine for 3 years and get branded that!
Sounds like that motor could very well be larger than 880, do you know if the upper crank case has been machined out to take larger sleeves? If it has '880' (87mm) pistons and a strokes crank it could be ????cc who knows!!
-
UGLY and FAST
It sounds great....at least it did with the tuned headers I made and the Powerflow muffler That I had fitted.
-
Jemco 2 up the RHS Headers , Supertrapp Tuneable Mufflers, it will sound OK.
I forgot to ask about carburation?
-
Shit. will have to look. Either 34 of 36 Mikunis. I'll also check the jets.
